The brief
The established accounting platforms were built for other markets. They assume card payments, bank feeds that exist, and tax rules from somewhere else. A Nigerian freelancer or small firm ends up paying for software that does not understand USSD transfers, cannot read a GTBank statement, and treats WhatsApp — where most of their invoicing conversation actually happens — as irrelevant. The brief was a production-ready platform built for how business is actually done locally, from a standing start.
What we built
ereQa covers the full money cycle of a small business from one dashboard:
| Get paid | Track money | Win the work | Insights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Invoicing, recurring billing, WhatsApp payment links (transfer, card, USSD), branded client portal | Expense tracking with receipts and budgets, Nigerian bank reconciliation, bills and accounts payable | Quotes and proposals that convert to invoices on acceptance, contracts with legally admissible e-sign | eQ AI Review with monthly summaries and anomaly flags, P&L, cash flow and exports |
Two choices define the product. The first is WhatsApp as a payment channel: an invoice becomes a payment link shared in one tap, and the customer pays by bank transfer, card or USSD without creating an account anywhere. The second is reconciliation built for local statements — matching transactions from Nigerian banks against invoices and bills, which is the step that turns a pile of receipts into books an accountant will accept.
Around the core sit a client portal (one branded link per customer), twelve sector guides from freelancers to retail and restaurants, and a monthly AI review that summarises the month and flags anomalies before the accountant sees them.
How it is built
ereQa is a full web application: an interactive front end backed by an API, with authentication, multi-tenant data, document generation, payment integration and scheduled jobs for recurring billing and alerts. We scoped, designed and shipped it as a complete stack — product, front end, back end, deployment — to a live URL handling real traffic.
It also sits at the centre of a small ecosystem. Owoode, the free tool suite we built alongside it, hands finished documents straight into ereQa, so a business can start with a free invoice generator and graduate to full bookkeeping without re-entering anything.
What this shows
ereQa is the largest platform in our portfolio and the clearest example of what a full-stack build from scratch looks like: a real data model, real payments, real integrations, and the unglamorous parts — reconciliation, e-sign, exports — that make software usable for money rather than just demonstrable.
Where this fits
This is a custom software development engagement, and a build of this scope sits in our Platform Build tier — see straightforward pricing for what each tier includes and the fixed-price bands. Every engagement starts with a written scope that names the riskiest part of the build, delivered within 48 hours of your brief.
