What you get in an MVP Sprint
An MVP is the smallest product that tests your riskiest assumption with real users. It is not a clickable prototype and it is not version one of everything you plan to build. Every ruxox MVP Sprint includes:
- One end-to-end workflow — the single job your first users need done, working from sign-up to result.
- Real authentication and a real database, so early users are actual accounts, not a spreadsheet.
- Live deployment to a production environment on your own domain.
- Instrumentation: events that show whether users complete the core workflow, because an MVP you cannot measure is a demo.
- A clean handover: the repository, hosting and credentials in your name from day one.
How we decide what goes in
Scoping is where most MVP budgets are won or lost. Before quoting, we ask you to name the assumption that would sink the product if it were wrong — will people pay, can they complete the workflow unaided, can the data be extracted accurately enough — and we build only what tests it. Everything else goes on a written “version two” list so ideas are kept rather than argued about.
Two things are never cut: basic security (hashed passwords, HTTPS, sensible access control, no secrets in the browser) and measurement. Skipping either saves almost nothing and creates real risk.
MVP pricing and timelines
| Tier | Price (+ VAT) | Typical time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| MVP Sprint | from £3,000 | 2–4 weeks | One core workflow, live with real users |
| Product Build | £5,000–£15,000 | 4–8 weeks | A complete product with roles and integrations |
| Platform Build | £15,000–£60,000+ | 8+ weeks | Complex, multi-system or regulated builds |
Most startups begin with an MVP Sprint. If your first release genuinely needs several user roles, payments or two or three integrations, it is a Product Build — we will tell you which in the scope, with the reasoning. Use the app development cost calculator for a first estimate.
Week by week
- Within 48 hours of your brief: a written scope naming what is in, what is out, the riskiest unknown and a fixed price.
- Week 1: data model, sign-in and the core workflow running in a staging environment you can click through.
- Week 2: the workflow finished end to end, analytics wired in, your feedback applied.
- Weeks 3–4 (if scoped): second-priority features, testing on real devices, launch and handover.
You see working software at every milestone and pay against milestones you have seen running, never for work you have not seen.
MVPs we have shipped
Every product in our portfolio started as a narrow first version. Owoode launched as a handful of single-purpose invoice and tax tools for Nigerian businesses and grew to thirteen. BOQQS began as a salary-transparent job board for construction and healthcare and now covers energy and life sciences with thousands of live listings. Both grew from versions that did one job well.
After the MVP
You own the code, so you can extend it with us straight away, months later, or with another team. Returning clients are quoted on the same basis as new ones, and an optional care plan from £150 a month covers hosting, patches and bug fixes on what we built.
